Community Paste-Up Wall with Dwight Jellison

Due to a very generous grant from ArtsNow, Collide: Cuyahoga Falls is going to implement a Paste-Up Wall in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

A paste-up wall is an art installation that allows artists of various backgrounds and styles a single space for the purpose of bringing art to a community in a very visible, public and accessible location. These walls are quite popular in creating a unique art experience in many major cities both domestically and internationally. Additionally, they provide opportunities for artists to gain exposure outside of a traditional gallery setting.

The paste-up wall in Cuyahoga Falls will be eight feet high by 20 feet wide. Collide: Cuyahoga Falls will be targeting submissions from 90 to 120 regional artists. However, unlike most paste-up walls, due to the grant from ArtsNow, we will be purchasing the artwork to be hung on the wall. Artwork being curated may be originals, prints, and/or stickers. The submissions will be permanently affixed to the wall via wheat paste or hardware (as appropriate).

In major cities across the globe, local artists participate in a project called Paste-Ups. Collide: Cuyahoga Falls will be creating a Paste-Up to engage local artists. This project will bring artists together to showcase their art in public spaces. Artists of all ages will be encouraged to submit their original works of art. Lead Artist, Dwight Jellison will curate the submissions and create the final Paste-Up. We are excited about this opportunity to work with hundreds of artists who enhance the quality of life every day in Summit County.
